The Clueless Misinterprets, Nor Understands, Jesus Christ
Jesus’ response to Pilate in today’s reading was simply speaking from the perspective that He knows. But I find this to be a typical reaction to those who cannot understand Jesus’ words, particularly when He speaks in a philosophical tone or uses parables. i.e. “What does He mean?”
When Jesus speaks of His kingdom, I believe He speaks of the surroundings in which He truly fits and belongs. He speaks of the truth, and knows of a path that only a fraction of the population can truly understand.
While everyone has their own life and choices to make, it seems to me that there is an underlying or hidden answer to life that He knows about. As I have mentioned before, I find it second nature to understand what Our Lord has been talking about and preaching. This is a big reason for starting Cathoclick. Stay tuned to future posts.

The Reading | Jn 18:33b-37
Pilate said to Jesus,
“Are you the King of the Jews?”
Jesus answered, “Do you say this on your own
or have others told you about me?”
Pilate answered, “I am not a Jew, am I?
Your own nation and the chief priests handed you over to me.
What have you done?”
Jesus answered, “My kingdom does not belong to this world.
If my kingdom did belong to this world,
my attendants would be fighting
to keep me from being handed over to the Jews.
But as it is, my kingdom is not here.”
So Pilate said to him, “Then you are a king?”
Jesus answered, “You say I am a king.
For this I was born and for this I came into the world,
to testify to the truth.
Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”
